This is my great-great grandfather Alexander Ross. He came from Nairnshire, Scotland and worked for the Hudson's Bay Company, first as a clerk, and then later as a trader. He transferred to the Northwest Company in 1821 when he thought he was going to lose his job, and then retired in 1825 to the Hudson's Bay Settlement at Red River (now Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) to teach and raise his family of twelve children. I'm trying to track down all the members of the family. Please email me if you have any information.
